A Poem - Kingfisher (2024)
I sat upon a tussock and
A fiery dart came close to land
Upon a weeping willow tree.
Majestic in a red-blue raiment,
You are the only rightful claimant
Of kingship that will ever be,
Along Tean Brook, beyond the fields,
Where my childhood’s bounty yields
Halcyon memories that I see,
In my mind’s eye, my spirit lifting,
As I go on merrily sifting
My childhood memory.
